Dare to Have the 2020 Vision of God
A new year always brings new plans, hopes, and dreams. There is, however, something very powerful happening with this New Year – 2020. 💥😻
I wear glasses and truth be told I hate it. My vision has gotten to a point where I can only see up close without my glasses (and even that can be fuzzy at times). I need two different prescriptions and I cannot wear progressives. Even with my glasses, my vision is still flawed. 🤓
If you have “perfect vision” according to an eye doctor, then you have a vision that doesn’t need correction. This vision is termed 2020. To no longer need to have glasses would be amazing!
There is an option, which requires surgery, that would give me better if not “perfect” vision.
What if we could go through a procedure to allow us to have insight into our lives—our future–that could be considered picture-perfect?
I get excited just thinking about that! What about you?
Proverbs 29:18 reminds us that having a vision is important, so important in fact that without it we will perish.
So dramatic! 🤩AND True.
If you have done any sort of goal setting, you’ve asked, “where do I see myself in 5 or 10 years.”
Why is this so important? As it turns out, our brain is unable to identify the things that are real or perceived. To the brain, everything is “real.” 🎤
This is the biggest reason why fear can hold us back because the brain thinks the things we imagine are actually happening. 🧐Wherever we focus on expands.
For example, if you believe you are in danger you will react with anxiety. This includes sweating, the inability to think clearly, and the intense desire to get out of a situation. 😲
Conversely, if you focus on something else like your breathing, you can control your response.😎
When we have a powerful vision of what our future will look like, we can trick our brain into getting there. Fascinating, yes?
How can I help you set your eyes on things above and not things below, (Colossians 3:2.)
What are you focusing on today?
