Dare to Resolve
Do you make New Year’s Resolutions only to find that you’ve broken them before the clock strikes midnight on January 30th? 😱🧐
I know I have. 😔I start the new year with good intentions only to find I don’t have the willpower to follow through.
I am not alone.
According to an article published on Forbes.com in 2018, “statistics on how many people actually follow through and accomplish their New Year’s resolutions are rather grim. Studies have shown that less than 25% of people actually stay committed to their resolutions after just 30 days, and only 8% accomplish them.”
This is depressing. I don’t make New Year’s resolutions anymore. I mean who needs the guilt, am I right? So, what do we do? Change is possible, but we need to know that we cannot create it without help!
Author and Pastor John Piper gives us another way to view resolutions with a paraphrase of 1 Peter 4:11. “Let him who resolves to do a thing or not do a thing resolve in the strength that God supplies so that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To Him be glory forever.”
I am weak 😲, but Jesus is strong! 💪Jesus will give us the strength we need to make the changes we want to make! 🎤
I dare you to place your will in the hands of Christ. He will help you! 🤣😍💯
How will you resolve to follow Christ in 2020? 🔥🌟💥
