Do you talk to your loved ones?
Imagine how poorly your relationship would be with your significant other, children, parents, and friends if you never spoke to them. I can tell you this if you don’t talk to them, how are they going to know what is going on in your life? Both the good and the bad…
They won’t.
Would you agree that communication is crazy important?
Sure you would!
The same is true when it comes to our relationship with our Lord. We don’t have to be afraid to come to Him during both the good times and in times of trouble.
We should talk to Him.
I grew up on a farm in the middle of Nowhere, Ohio and I wasn’t allowed to have friends. So I had my animals and most importantly I had God.
He was and still is, the One I can count on. I just find that there are times that I don’t talk to Him as much as I used to. I am certain that a lot of it is the fact that I am spending so much time “working” I spend way too much time on the internet.
Are you guilty of that too, or am I the only one?
1 John 5:14 (MEV), assures us that we should come to Him in confidence knowing “if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
I’ve heard people use this scripture to make it sound like God is some sort of Genie and somehow, our wish is His command.
I don’t believe this is true.
What I do know, is when I come to Him and ask Him for things that are “in His will,” He will not only hear us but 1 John 5:15, says, “He will give it to us.”
So now I bet you are thinking, well that’s great Dianna, but how do I know what is in God’s will?
1) First and foremost we have to seek Him first. (Matt 6:33)
When we seek Him, we will spend time with Him in prayer and in His Word.
2) Don’t spend so much time trying to figure things out. (Believe
Proverbs 3:5–7 (MEV): says, “trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” He knows what He is doing and He has a plan for you, you just have to trust Him!
3) Ah, trust. This one is huge, especially if you have been hurt repeatedly by others.
Romans 12:1-2, encourages you and I,
If you do these things I promise you will begin to “know the things you need to know” because the Lord will whisper the truth to your heart. As John 10:27, states we are His sheep and we know His voice.
Look, I am NOT going to say this is easy because it isn’t.
What I can say, is that when I seek, trust, and
I hope this gives you encouragement.
Uniquely yours,
Dianna
