I love, love, love films where the hero’s journey is clear. You may not be familiar with the term, but if you have ever watched a movie where the central character has to “grow up,” to deal with a situation in his or her life, then you know what I’m referring to.
As a writer, I love to try to step out of my current role in my life and try to see where the Author of my life is taking me. This is especially true when I’m going through a struggle, I think: He must be preparing me for my next quest. If you’ve never done this, I’d highly recommend it because it allows you to examine your troubles in a different light.
Momma would always remind me, “whatever you are going through, God is there and He will bring you through it.” (Based on Isaiah 43:2)
I’ve found that by looking at life from this perspective, I am able to see God is in control, and He will give me the strength and confidence I need to deal with life’s situations just like He did for Peter and John.
Acts 4:13 (The Message): They couldn’t take their eyes off them—Peter and John standing there so confident, so sure of themselves!
Just the knowledge that He is the King of my life, the King of my Heart, the Author and finisher of my story helps me each and every day. So today, I’d like to encourage you to look at your life, your story as one that isn’t complete. When troubles come, and I promise they will just turn the page to the next chapter and I promise you will see how the last chapter’s battles are preparing you for today’s victory!
