What is truth anyway?

And Jesus said, “For if you embrace the truth, it will release true freedom into your lives.” John 8:32 (TPT)

I’ve heard it said often, that what is one person’s truth may not be someone else’s. So how can you and I know “the truth” if it is subjective?
I recommend going back to John 8 and reading what Jesus said in verse 31. “When you continue to embrace all that I teach…”
As I love words, I want to examine this sentence a little closer. He starts off by saying when “you continue.” Why is it important to continue?
I don’t know about you, but there are times when I start something I believe I am supposed to do. Then I start to lose that belief. Someone might tell me, no, but a lot of times it comes from those voices in my head. I begin to doubt the very thing that I “knew” God showed me. I think maybe I missed something along the way. Worse, I might not think I’m worthy.
Jesus goes on to tell us that we MUST not only continue but that we must embrace Him and the truth of His Word.
The Word of God teaches us that we are:
Worthy:
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11).
His children:
“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!” (1 John 3:1).
Loved:
“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness, I have drawn you” (Jeremiah 31:3).
Created for this specific time:
Esther 4:14 (CEB) “In fact, if you don’t speak up at this very important time, relief and rescue will appear [for the Jews] from another place, but you and your family will die. But who knows? Maybe it was for a moment like this that you came to be part of the royal family.”
I love the story of Esther because, as a woman, it is easy to think maybe I can’t do anything. I mean who am I?
God called Esther to save her people.
I believe You and I have been brought to a time, a moment, like this to make a difference in this world, for our people!
So what will you believe? Will you embrace this truth this joy into your life?
If you do, I guarantee it will set you free!
Uniquely Yours,
Dianna
